LumaVu Camera Instructions

Fitting Instructions

All Aqualuma products have been tested before shipping

It is recommended that you use a qualified boat builder to work out placement and fitting of your new LumaVu Underwater Camera.

You will require the following to install your new Aqualuma LumaVu Camera.

*60 mm (2 & 3/8 in”) hole saw, Wire connectors, * Fuse or Circuit Breaker

Please check that the Aqualuma Sealant (Bostik 940FS) has been supplied at no charge. If not, do not continue with installation, please contact your supplier.

Step 1:
With boat on hardstand or trailer calculate the position for the camera housing. (Recommended depth is 300 mm (10 in”) below water line). Mark the hole center with a marker, be careful to check the inside of the boat for any obstacles in the area you want to drill, with that done you can now drill a small pilot hole then double check inside the boat again for anything that may obstruct the housing or retaining nut. Once you are sure you have the correct position you can now drill through the hull with the 60mm (2 & 3/8 in”) hole saw.

Step 2:
Remove the Camera from box , do not disassemble the unit, remove the retaining nut from the housing and clean the inside surface of the flange with a dry cloth, clean the surface of the hull removing all antifouling from flange area and wipe clean.

Step 3:
You are now ready to install the complete Camera fitting into the hull (there is no need to disassemble the Camera fitting). Apply a generous amount of sealer to the inside flange of the housing (N.B You must use only Aqualuma Sealant supplied or Bostik 940FS, this should have been supplied with your LumaVu Camera at no charge; if it has not been supplied DO NOT substitute for any other product, return to your place of purchase to obtain correct sealant) and carefully slide the wiring then housing into the hole with someone inside the boat to attach the nut, Align the arrow to the up position this is critical to make the camera orientation correct on the video screen, hold the housing flush with the outside surface of the boat and apply a small amount of sealer to inner surface around hole and tighten the nut by hand until tight. The nut should need only to be hand tight.

Step 4:
Clean excess sealant from around the housing and check to make sure you have a seal all the way around the flange to the outside edge of the housing. Check the face of the housing and lens area for any sealant.

Step 5:
Take the power wire and run to a known 12 volt DC fused and switchable power source with 5 amp fuse as each Camera uses only 130ma @ 12 volts DC do not use higher fuse, connect the red wire to positive and the black wire to negative. You can then run the RCA video lead to any video input in the boat.

Please note Aqualuma Cameras are polarity sensitive.

Congratulations on purchasing and installing your new Aqualuma Underwater Camera. You are now ready to view the water and sea life around your boat and be the envy of your friends who have not yet seen or experienced the wonders of the sea life below their boat.

Regular Maintenance
For the best performance of your Aqualuma LumaVu Camera, wipe the outer lens with a soft cloth or soft bristled broom –this should be done at monthly intervals.
There is no internal servicing required however, in the unlikely event that you need to access the Camera this is done from inside the vessel. Twist the end cap clockwise to release and remove the back cap (this can be quite tight as it has an IP68 rated seal in the form of an O-Ring) then gently pull on the wires that pass through the alloy heat sink , if the Camera engine does not slide freely towards you –gently tap the housing to assist in the removal of the light engine.
To re-install the Aqualuma LumaVu Camera reverse the above taking care not to catch the wires between the end cap and heat sink . Relubricate the O-Ring with a small amount of O-Ring grease.
